1. How unusual, recognize the '67 borders
BEN JABO , |
ISRAEL |
|
(03.03.11) |
Which the Palestinian's have refused to recognize ever since they were defined and agreed to at Rhodes in 1949
They haven’t worked since the were first established, there’s no expectation that they’ll work in the future

2. Israel is only protected by ...
... The Almighty.
The US is much like Esther in this issue.
if thou keep entirely silent at this time, respite and deliverance remaineth to the Jews from another place, and thou and the house of thy fathers are destroyed; and who knoweth whether for a time like this thou hast come to the kingdom?'
Israel will endure, the Scriptures promise that. If the US doesn't do anything, then HaShem will simply choose another means of delivering Israel, while the country that could have helped and didn't will find itself in grave danger.
The "palestinian" Arabs, and the 150 or more countries that throw their lot in with them, will discover that an Israel on the side of the Almighty is far greater than all those arrayed against them.
As for my country, the US, we have been placed here in this time to do what we did last week: when the evil powers of this world try to advance their Jew-hating agenda against Israel the eternal home of the Jews, then we are to "JUST SAY NO."

3. LOL! Like it's gonna create a Pali state?
It will mean nothing. And it's not gonna happen. Even European states (that "matter") have openly stated today that they won't recognize unilateral moves by the PA. It's just in fashion to bash Israel. The reality on the ground is a different ball game. The pals have done ZERO for the peace process. No one can blame Israel for acting the way they have due to the entire history of these backstabbing people. They have Jordan, now Lebanon and soon other countries will be taken over by them. But never Israel. Israel can wipe out the entire middle east and there isn't a darn thing anyone can do about that reality. Look at the Arab/muslim world today: in total dissaray murdering each other. In Iran, someone is hung every 12 hours. Who would take such backward people seriously and want to do anything for them. They are a disgrace to humanity: their fatwas to murder women and children. Pathetic. Chai Yisrael.

7. The palis are saying - NO peace NEGOTIATIONS needed
CK Tan , |
Singapore, Singapore |
|
(03.03.11) |
The palis are hoping to CIRCUMVENT all their obligations listed in the various pacts (e.g. Road Map).
That's why they have EXCUSES for :
1. REFUSING to talk peace during the 10-month FREEZE and then, when the freeze was almost over, only to DEMAND an extension WITHOUT committing that they will ENGAGE in the talks.
2. WHINING about US bias over its veto when the US actually DEMANDS far more concessions from Israel.
3. REJECTING outright the idea of an interim statehood plan WITHOUT even knowing the ACTUAL details.
And the palis are PLANNING to continue their BOYCOTT of the necessary PEACE talks cos :
1. having to negotiate MEANS that THEY will have to make CONCESSIONS too.
2. they BELIEVE that they can get what they WANT for FREE.

It means inside the 67 borders but not 100% the area

9. Takes no effort to support a virtual State
William , |
Israel |
|
(03.03.11) |
It's easy to give a virtual approval of a virtual idea, but when the chips are down and Abbas declares a State - will he be prepared to take the land under which the IDF sits? Will he order terrorists to attack Jews in their legal homes in Sheik Jarrah? Will he have in place the medical, financial, and economic system if the global and Israeli umbilical cord is cut?
Soliciting potential help on a possible idea is easy - entrepreneurs do it all the time. The hard part is doing the actual work, and "Palestinians" have dropped the ball for 90 years.

12. And the last country standing
Truthseeker , |
USA |
|
(03.03.11) |
The last country that will recognize that the Palestinians have the right to all the land occupied in 1967 will be the U.S., the main backer of Israel's brutal occupation.
Once again the US, under the thumb of the Israeli lobby, will the last country standing when all the world recognizes Palestine.
|
|
|
Other countries can recognize it however they want but at the end of the day the borders are still not determined, the PA barely functions as a legitimate government, and half of their entity is basically a separate state (Gaza). Yes Israel might be isolated in its stance on the settlements but the countries in the world that actually determine policy, ie none of the countries that have recognized Palestine so far, will understand the reality and their recognition will be nothing more than symbolic.

14. It's most interesting that Louis Farrahkahn
BEN JABO , |
ISRAEL |
|
(03.03.11) |
is one of the loudest exponents for a Palestinian State
Upon doing a bit of investigation, it just may well be, that he has some Jewish blood in him
"Farrakhan explained that his father was very light-skinned and had straight hair, and that his mother had told him his father's parentage was, in fact, white Portuguese. Then he said, "I'm going to tell you something. You really want to know what I think? I think they were members of the Jewish community." This sounds like a fantastical joke, but it is highly probable, given what we know about migration to the West Indies. Orlando Patterson, a historical sociologist at Harvard, who has made a study of merchant populations in the islands, confirms that nearly all people of Iberian descent in Jamaica and Barbados, even today, are of Sephardic Jewish ancestry.
Farrakhan goes on to state that "If in my lineage there are Jews, I would hope that in the end, before my life is over, I not only will have rendered a service to my own beloved community of black people but will also have rendered a service to the Jewish community."

Israel will never allow a Palestinian state in its central mountain range: it's too dangerous! It's too small for the Palestinians. Above plan works best for both peoples. Be reasonable, read the document. It is THE BEST solution out there for both peoples.

19. Is that really surprising?
Michael Steiner , |
Bahrain |
|
(03.03.11) |
Whether Netanyahu, the knucklehead Lieberman and the delusional settler lobby like it or not, a Palestinian state will be established sooner or later. We could have been savvy and sensible about it, and worked to reach it through a negotiated solution. Now a solution (very likely far more unfavorable than what we could have negotiated) will be imposed on us.
Serves us right. It's what we get for living in a dream world where we think it possible to permanently deny a people their right to self-determination, despite overwhelming historical evidence that that is not possible or desirable. And not just that, but pursue the "strategy" of screaming anti-Semitism to rebuff criticism of that delusion.
As a Jew and a Zionist, but not a The Land(TM) fetishist, I congratulate the Palestinians and sincerely wish them all the best with their state. There will be a lot of bitterness on both sides for a while, but eventually we will learn to live with each other. Two centuries from now there will likely not be an Israel and a Palestine anyway.

25. Time For The Jordanian Option
Jason, Ph.D. , |
Charlotte, USA |
|
(03.03.11) |
It is time for Israel to take the diplomatic offensive on this. Israel should announce that despite all of its offers and attempts to reach a deal with the Palestinians, the Palestinians have rejected everything reasonable (which is completely true, of course.)
Therefore, Israel should further announce that it would like to return most of the West Bank (with the same minor border modifications that israel tried to negotiate for with the Palestinians) to the country from which this land was taken: Jordan.
Israel can also announce that after this territory has been returned to Jordan, Jordan can do whatever it pleases with this land, including establishing a Palestinian state. Of course, Israel should also say that should Jordan choose to do this, Israel will not tolerate any attacks from this territory into Israel, and that any such attacks will result in Israel reoccupying and then annexing any land from which these attacks occur.
If Israel keeps insisting on this, Jordan will be very embarrased to keep saying that it refuses to take this territory. If Jordan keeps refusing, Israel can loudly announce that it is trying to implement U.N. resolution 242, but it needs a partner to help it accomplish this.
Why on earth should Israel accept the responsibility of establishing a Palestinian state? When Israel captured the West Bank in a war imposed upon it, there was no such state. Make Jordan assume the responsibility.
