Police filed an indictment against a 30-year-old resident of Shuafat refugee camp in East Jerusalem, who was arrested in the city two weeks ago after wandering on the light rail while carrying a knife. The police statement indicated that the suspect "moved among train passengers, got close to them, stared at them and examined security guards' weapons." The statement also noted that "during the search, the officer found a reading passage from the 'Jihad' book in the suspect's pocket." When asked by the officer why he had a knife, the suspect admitted he planned to carry out a stabbing attack against Jews.
