Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who secured a fourth term in office in the country's elections, delivered a victory speech in São Paulo. Lula, a staunch opponent of U.S. President Donald Trump, said that "we succeeded in convincing the people that voting is important to protect democracy in Brazil and we prevented foreign interference through digital platforms. Brazil is nobody's backyard." Lula called for regulation of social media communications and declared that "we no longer have an electoral rival. I will serve 215 million Brazilians, we will work together with a conservative Congress that was elected by the people of Brazil."
