Spain: Power Supply Restored to 61% of Country, Cause of Outage Still Unknown

Hours after an unprecedented power outage began across the Iberian Peninsula, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that national power supply has been restored to about 50% of the country, with full restoration expected in the remaining areas in the coming hours. According to him, 'authorities have not yet determined what caused the power outage.' Later, the Spanish electric company announced that more than 61% of power supply has already been restored. In Portugal, authorities reported that 85 out of 89 substations have resumed operation.
