Renowned British Rabbi Avraham Pinter succumbed Monday night to COVID-19.
Pinter, who had close ties to the Labour Party, was the head of Yesodey Hatorah Senior Girls' School in London and was the first rabbi in Britain to become a local councillor when he took a position in Hackney borough.
Hackney Mayor Philip Glanville paid tribute to the rabbi as someone who "did so much for Hackney and the Haredi community."
