Health Ministry reports one death, 148 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours

The Health Ministry on Tuesday evening said one coronavirus-related death and 148 new cases have been reported in the past 24 hours.

    The ministry said 101 new diagnoses have been recorded since midnight on Tuesday, bringing the total number of active patients in Israel to 2,722.
    The latest fatality puts the death toll from coronavirus-related complications at 299. The number of intubated patients also increased and now stands at 24.
    Health officials said on Monday they conducted at least 14,343 coronavirus tests across the country.

    Jerusalem, which leads the country in the number of overall infections with 4,025 cases, has been overtaken by Tel Aviv when it comes to the rate with witch the virus spreads.
    Since the start of the week, 81 new diagnoses were reported in Tel Aviv, compared to only 30 in the capital, followed by Bnei Brak with 25 new cases. Since the start of this month, 189 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Tel Aviv, compared to 171 in Jerusalem.
