U.S. celebrity lawyer Alan Dershowitz claims that a victim of Jeffrey Epstein has testified she was coerced into having sex with former prime minister Ehud Barak, the Miami Herald reported.
Dershowitz, who has represented Epstein in the past, was also named by Virginia Roberts-Giuffre as one of the men to whom Epstein trafficked her. He denies all allegations.
Barak also denied he had sex with Roberts-Giuffre and accused Dershowitz of naming him in an attempt to distract from the allegations he is himself facing.
"Mr. Barak's name was scrawled into the press report in order to repel the accusations against Alan Dershowitz. In his article, Dershowitz claims Roberts-Giuffre's affidavit is false. Mr. Barak will not respond to outrageous statements and lies and had not met Epstein in 2002, when Ms. Roberts-Giuffre had left the United States for Australia," said a statement on the former prime minister's behalf.
According to the report, Dershowitz was trying to obtain sealed court records to use in a defamation case he had filed against Roberts-Giuffre.
The paper said that among the documents were court filings that identified Barak and Les Wexner, owner of the Victoria’s Secret clothing and lingerie brand, as two of the men with whom Roberts-Giuffre was forced to have sex when she was still a minor.
Jeffry Epstein's name had been linked many times to public figures such as U.S. President Donald Trump, former U.S. president Bill Clinton, Britain's Prince Andrew and Ehud Barak - whose was snapped entering Epstein's New York residence with his face covered in an image published in the Daily Mail.
“I never attended a party with him,” Barak told The Daily Beast. “I never met Epstein in the company of women or young girls.”
According to media reports, Barak received over $2 million in grants last decade from the Wexner Foundation when Epstein sat on the group's board.
In a radio interview, Barak said he met Epstein several times but said that "he didn't support me or pay me."
