IDF says its aircraft struck northern Gaza on Sunday after three rockets were fired by Palestinian militants toward southern Israel.
Among targets said to be hit were underground infrastructure belonging to terror groups
Two rockets landed earlier in open fields and one was reported to have been intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system causing no damage or injuries.
There was no immediate Israeli reaction, although the last time Gaza factions fired into Israel, 10 days ago the rocket fire prompted an IDF raid on military targets in Gaza.
After three wars and numerous skirmishes over the years, Israel and Gaza's Hamas militant rulers have largely observed an unofficial cease-fire in recent months.
But tensions have been rising as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he hopes to begin annexing Israeli-occupied land in the West Bank.
