The Jerusalem District Court on Monday slammed Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit and the State Prosecutor for misconduct in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's corruption case.
The three-judge panel's criticism comes after the prosecution failed to provide the court with written approval from Mandelblit to initiate some investigative steps against a sitting prime minister as sanctioned in Basic Law: The Judiciary and Basic Law: The Government — two of Israel's constitution-like ground laws, and only provided verbal approval.
