Australia's Minister of Employment, Murray Watt, defended his government’s policy on combating antisemitism in the country and criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's remarks, in which he stated that an “anti-Israel spirit” was blowing through Canberra. “The government has taken a wide range of measures to tackle antisemitism and eradicate it from Australian society,” Watt said. “Since Prime Minister Albanese took office in May 2022, the government has provided over $25 million to Jewish organizations and for their security, and has outlawed the Nazi salute,” he added. “With all due respect, I disagree with Netanyahu,” Watt concluded.
