Lt. Col. (res.) Guy Rosen, a former commander of a classified operational unit in the Israeli Air Force and one of the initiators of the letter calling for the return of the hostages—even at the cost of ending the war—said in an interview Tuesday that “without bringing the hostages home, there will be no recovery. The war is now political and its sole purpose is to keep Netanyahu in office.”
He described the prime minister as “a cynical man, devoid of heart and soul, who lies as easily as I speak. If we don’t wake up soon, we’ll see more bereaved families, the hostages will remain in Gaza and we’ll continue descending into the abyss.”
