Commander of the Southern Command Major General Yaron Finkelman met with a senior member of the United Nations and a U.S. Army commander at a base near Ashdod, and the three discussed renewing the distribution of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip, NBC reported, citing two official security sources. According to the report, the meeting was held in light of the fact that in the last 18 days more than 500 tons of equipment and supplies that had already been brought into the Strip were not distributed throughout Gaza. Officials who participated in the meeting said they expressed optimism regarding the possibility that the distribution of food in the Gaza Strip will resume in the coming days.
