Border town mayor doubts Israel’s ability to enforce agreements with Hezbollah

Kiryat Shmona Mayor Avichai Stern on Thursday voiced skepticism about Israel’s ability to enforce border agreements with Hezbollah amid ongoing negotiations.
“These are fairy tales. We need a live border line like the U.S. has with Mexico,” Stern told Ynet. He questioned how Israel could prevent Lebanese residents from returning to border homes after any agreements are finalized if it cannot enforce such measures now. “Freedom of action doesn’t truly enable action, and Hezbollah hasn’t been eliminated,” he added.
