Report: Gaza cease-fire negotiations enter 'crucial' phase

The London-based Arabic-language newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reported that negotiations regarding a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip have entered a "crucial" phase. Egyptian sources who spoke to the newspaper said that there is "a closeness to signing the agreement after the final details are finalized, especially those related to the names of the living hostages and Palestinian prisoners," and that "there is a possibility that the deal will be completed soon." The Saudi newspaper also reported that, in the first phase of the deal, Hamas will release about 30 living hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, dozens of whom have been sentenced to life imprisonment.
