Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday that European security guarantees would not be enough for Ukraine, which aspires to join transatlantic military alliance NATO. "It's impossible to discuss this only with Europe... True guarantees for us now or in the future are NATO," he said, adding that the U.S. should be involved. Zelensky said also it was important that discussions about a potential foreign peacekeeping contingent were happening now.
