US Treasury imposes sanctions on officials of Israeli cyber corporation Intellexa

Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on Monday sanctioned five individuals and one entity associated with the Israeli cyber corporation Intellexa Consortium "for their role in developing, operating, and distributing commercial spyware technology that presents a significant threat to the national security of the United States." Intellexa developed commercial spyware products, including the Predator software. The sanctions come as part of the U.S. government's fight against the misuse of spying technologies that harm U.S. national security, individual rights and freedom of expression. The sanctions include freezing assets and banning any financial transactions related to individuals and companies placed on the "blacklist."
