Foreign Minister Eli Cohen responded to the approval given by the Stockholm authorities for the burning of a Torah scroll outside the Israeli embassy in Sweden, stating that he is "appalled by the additional threat to burn a Torah scroll."
He emphasized the need to put an end to such threats and attacks on sacred scriptures and Torah scrolls. Cohen announced that he will be speaking with Sweden's Foreign Minister to make it clear that Israel expects measures to prevent such incidents that could impact the relations between the two countries.
