Division 4 soldiers eliminated terrorists in the northern and eastern brigades of Khan Younis and destroyed a tunnel shaft leading to a vast underground compound, where terrorists and Nukhba forces were staying. After the destruction of the shaft, five Nukhba terrorists surrendered and later confessed that two company commanders and many Hamas personnel killed in the tunnels due to the IDF underground attack. While the Israeli public feels that the operation in Khan Younis is staggering, the IDF is focusing its efforts on finding senior Hamas officials who are hiding underground which complicates the mission.
