The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has confirmed that it purchased NSO Group's powerful Pegasus spyware but denied using it, according to a statement published by the Guardian on Wednesday.
Confirming claims made in a New York Times report last week, the law enforcement agency suggested that it bought access to the Israeli surveillance tool to “stay abreast of emerging technologies and tradecraft."
