Israel: Turkey rejected offer to help fight wildfires

AP|
The Israeli Embassy in Ankara says Israel had offered to help fight the blazes tearing through forests and villages on Turkey's southern coast but Turkish officials had refused the offer.
The Turkish officials said the "situation is under control," according to the embassy, which said the offer still stands.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's government is facing increased criticism over its apparent poor response and inadequate preparedness for the large-scale wildfires.
