Avi Maoz, chairman of the Noam party and deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, resigned from the government on Monday. “During the coalition negotiations, I spoke with the prime minister about the deep entrenchment of the deep state across institutions in general and the Education Ministry in particular,” he said in a statement. “Unfortunately, nearly all the tools I was promised in order to effect change were not provided. I will continue working to strengthen the Jewish identity of the state—as a full member of the Knesset.”
