The Jerusalem District Attorney's Office submitted to the city's district court an indictment against Mustafa Jamal, a cleric of a mosque in the Issawiya neighborhood of Jerusalem, for the crime of "revealing a decision to betray" - a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison. According to the indictment, on October 12, a few days after the war began, Jamal called on hundreds of people in the mosque to join the fight against Israel. Following his calls, violent riots developed in the Issawiya neighborhood in which dozens of people participated and included throwing stones, Molotov cocktails and shooting fireworks at security forces, the Hadassah Mount Scopus hospital, roads and a gas station.
