Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not attend the swearing-in ceremony of Justice Yitzhak Amit as President of the Supreme Court, claiming that he has a "conflict of interest" due to his ongoing trial. This will be the first time since the establishment of the state that the prime minister does not attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Supreme Court president. At the same time Justice Minister Yariv Levin will also skip the swearing in, since he says that he does not recognize the decision to name Amit to the post.
