Arab newspaper in US accused of making death threats against Jews, pro-Israeli officials

The FBI and police forces in the state of Indiana arrested a reporter for The Arab American News, the largest Arab-American newspaper in the U.S., on charges of making death threats against Jews and American government officials who expressed support for Israel, following the Hamas massacre on October 7. According to the indictment, journalist Jeffrey Stevens, 41, admitted that he sent messages to the CIA website, in which he threatened: "I'm going to shoot every pro-Israel government official in the head, and there's nothing you can do about it because the CIA is pathetic." Stevens explained his behavior to the police by saying that he had a "drinking problem." If convicted, he is expected to be sent to prison for five years. (Daniel Edelson, New York)
