The Central District Attorney's Office filed an indictment against Dor Oved, a 30-year-old resident of the northern West Bank settlement of Yitzhar, after he rioted and tore up books of the Quran in a mosque in Kfar Urif near Nablus about a month ago. The police investigation reveals that he arrived with two other people at the mosque in the village, where the three destroyed furniture, smashed windows and threw Quran books. Oved then tore out the pages of the religious books. According to the charges, the motive for Oved's actions were religious, nationalistic or ideological. A request was submitted for him to remain in custody until the end of the legal processes. (Gilad Morag)
