U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday he held a “great discussion” with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on trade and the Iranian threat during their meeting at the White House.
Speaking after the meeting, Trump confirmed that the United States has begun direct talks with Iran and indicated that negotiations will continue on Saturday.
“We are having direct talks with Iran. They have started, and they’ll go on Saturday,” Trump said, describing the current situation as “dangerous territory” but reiterating that a diplomatic deal is preferable.
