An Israeli delegation headed by the coordinator of government activities in the territories (COGAT) visited Cairo on Wednesday, in an effort to defuse tensions between the two countries over the Israeli offensive on Rafah. The officials discussed the urgent need to reopen the Rafah border crossing to Egypt, that the IDF had recently taken control of, for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
