The Qatari newspaper Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reported that Yemen’s government is holding high-level talks with the United States about the possibility of launching a ground offensive against the Iran-backed Houthi rebels.
According to unnamed sources cited by the paper, the recent discussions have involved both political and military officials from the U.S., as well as representatives from other countries including the United Kingdom. The talks are described as intensive and ongoing.
Meanwhile, sources close to the Houthis told the newspaper that the group has been reinforcing its frontline positions amid growing concerns that a ground operation may be imminent.
