Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that Israel will reestablish infrastructure to allow the transfer of humanitarian aid to Gaza through civilian companies. Katz framed the move as part of a broader strategy, stating that Israel’s policy in Gaza is “clear and unequivocal.”
“Our top priority is making every effort to secure the release of all hostages as part of the Witkoff framework, and building a bridge toward Hamas’s eventual defeat,” he said.
Katz emphasized that “the pressure on Hamas to agree to the deal is heavy, and tensions between the group and the local population are rising.” He added that for the first time, Egypt has conditioned a comprehensive agreement and an end to the war on Hamas being disarmed and Gaza demilitarized.
