As Marina Rosenberg, senior vice president for International Affairs at the Anti-Defamation League, explained, "Having precise and current data is the initial step in combating antisemitism. Atlas is a refined source of all-encompassing information on antisemitism, aiding our comprehension of this issue. By grasping the scope of antisemitism through the integration of various information sources, we can better devise targeted initiatives to counter antisemitism."
She also expressed eagerness to collaborate with international partners to customize educational programs and advocacy endeavors aimed at countering anti-Jewish hatred.
Jonathan Greenblatt, the global CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, added, "In a time when antisemitism is a pressing global issue, Atlas will be instrumental in identifying the regions where antisemitism is most prevalent and understanding governmental responses. We are proud to spearhead this initiative, alongside numerous international partners. In this fight against antisemitism, we are indeed stronger together."

Atlas was launched during the Anti-Defamation League's annual Never Again Is Now conference in New York on March 6. The occasion also saw the convening of the Joint Task Force J-7 to Combat Antisemitism, consisting of leaders from the seven largest Jewish communities globally. They gathered to deliberate on the ongoing global antisemitism crisis and strategize on safeguarding Jewish communities.
The launch of this initiative comes amid record levels of antisemitism in the United States. A recent survey conducted by the League revealed an all-time high in anti-Jewish sentiment in the U.S., with 24% of Americans expressing broad primitive antisemitic views, a rise from 20% in 2022.
In January, the Anti-Defamation League released initial data indicating a significant increase in antisemitic incidents. Between October 7 and January 7, there were 3,291 such incidents, marking a 361% surge compared to the previous year. This makes 2023 the worst year for antisemitism since the League began tracking this data in the late 1970s.
