Former Assad regime official killed in western Syria clashes

Arab media outlets reported Thursday that Shuja al-Ali, a former senior Assad regime official, was killed during clashes between Syrian leadership and opponents in rural Homs, western Syria.
Al-Ali was accused of killing rebels during the revolution earlier this month that led to Bashar Assad's fall from power.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a London-based opposition organization, reported that Al-Ali was affiliated with Hezbollah in Syria.
