US OKs more than $5 bln worth of potential arms sales for Egypt

The U.S. State Department has approved the potential sale of more than $5 billion worth of arms for Egypt, the Pentagon announced on Friday.
Abrams tank refurbishment, support and equipment account for the majority of the new arms announced with an estimated cost of $4.69 billion. The contractor is General Dynamics Land Systems.
