The Israeli Embassy in Berlin commented on the firebomb attack on a synagogue in the city. "Shortly after Hamas supporters scattered antisemitic fliers on the streets of Berlin, a synagogue was attacked in the center of the city. This incident comes only a few days after we witnessed the painting of stars of David on Jewish homes in the German capital," according to the embassy. "We trust the law enforcement authorities in Germany to handle the case with the utmost severity and with all the means at their disposal. But this is also a test for every democracy, which has no gray area: either you stand with the people of light or with the people of darkness. This is the time to make a clear choice."
