The IDF and Shin Bet killed Rashid Jahjuh, the head of Hamas' General Security Apparatus in Gaza, the military said Thursday. Jahjuh had replaced Sami Ouda, who was killed by Israel in July 2024 along with Ruhi Mushtaha, Hamas’ head of government in Gaza.
The IDF spokesperson said Hamas' General Security Apparatus is a secretive and central branch of the organization, responsible for identifying collaborators, securing the safety of Hamas officials and assets in Gaza and abroad, and suppressing opposition in the enclave.
