Legal officials: Suspicion against detained soldiers are serious, better that we investigate and not The Hague

In a conversation with Ynet, senior legal officials referred to the detention of eight reservists on suspicion of sexual abuse of a Nukhba terrorist, saying that "these are serious suspicions of abuse that must be investigated; they must be investigated - and it is better that we investigate. The internal investigations save international external investigations." According to them:"Mistreatment of detainees could cause unprecedented international damage that we will not be able to face, and the internal investigations protect Israel from the Hague Tribunal. If we do not investigate, we are buying the political and military elite a ticket to the Tribunal and severe measures against them and against the State of Israel."
