Kobi Ohel, father of Alon who is held captive in Gaza, told those gathered at the Hostages Square in Tel Aviv Monday that the family learned from released captive Eli Cohen, who was held alongside Alon, that his son 'lost vision in one eye, suffered a severe head injury, and has life-threatening shrapnel throughout his body. He was wounded by grenades in the death shelter and endured severe torture including violent beatings and rifle butts to his head.' Kobi revealed that Alon 'received appalling treatment from Hamas, was stitched up by a 19-year-old boy with thread and needle without pain relief, and was then given Tylenol pills by Hamas.'
