EU's Borrell fails in attempt to impose sanctions on Ben-Gvir, Smotrich

EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrell convened the European Foreign Ministers in an attempt to convince them to impose sanctions on Israeli Ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, but failed since many countries opposed the move. Foreign Minister Israel Katz spoke by phone Wednesday with several of his counterparts, including the foreign ministers of Hungary and the Czech Republic, and told them that "it is unthinkable that you will now make a decision against Israeli individuals during the negotiations for the release of hostages, when Iran is threatening to attack and when Hezbollah is firing dozens of bullets.
