The Israel national under-21 soccer team on Tuesday beat Ireland 3-1 on penalties to qualify for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship for the third time in its history.
After a 120-minute 0-0 stalemate at Tel Aviv's Bloomfield Stadium, Guy Luzon's men bested their Irish opponents in an 11-meter shootout with a brilliant performance from goalkeeper Daniel Peretz, who stopped three spot kicks and booked the young Blue and Whites a berth in the continental tournament.
Last week, the two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse leg in Dublin.
