Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, which is affiliated with Hezbollah, reported that Egypt is waiting for Israel's answer regarding the proposal it submitted with the aim of reaching a temporary cease-fire in the Gaza Strip. According to sources who spoke to the newspaper, Cairo warned in talks with Israeli officials that Jerusalem's refusal of the offer would mean "entering a dark tunnel without any hope of rescuing the hostages alive."
