Scorpions to perform in Israel in summer 2022

The legendary German rock band Scorpions is set to perform in Israel in the summer of 2022, production sources said on Tuesday.

  • The band is returning to Israel as part of their world tour to promote the release of their new album Rock Believer. The group will hold one concert in Tel Aviv on July 9.

    Scorpions have performed in Israel several times in recent years and are known for their fondness of the Israeli audience. The last time they were in Israel was in July 2018, and before that in 2017, 2010, and 2005.
    The rock group was established in Germany in the mid-60s and saw many changes over the years but their founder and lead guitarist Rudolf Schenker and frontman Klaus Meine, who joined in 1970 are still going strong.
    The band has sold over 100 million copies of its albums throughout the years.

    Some of its big hits include "Rock you like a hurricane", "Still loving you", "Send me an angel", and the unforgettable "Wind of change" that was written amidst the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the U.S., after a performance in Moscow in the 80s.
    The hit single is associated with the fall of the Berlin Wall, and had massive political and social influence at the time, making it one of the best-selling singles in history, with 15 million copies sold.
