U.S. Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield announced on Tuesday that addressing the Gaza war will be a top priority during her country’s presidency of the UN Security Council, which began that day.
Outlining the U.S. agenda for the coming month, Thomas-Greenfield pledged continued diplomatic efforts to end the war and secure the release of remaining hostages. "We will continue our relentless diplomacy to bring an end to this conflict, and bring the remaining hostages home. We will continue to work around the clock to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.," she said in a statement.
