The Jewish Agency for Israel's officials are calling for immediate and uncompromising action to combat hate and racism against the backdrop of a sharp rise in antisemitic incidents worldwide, including arson attacks on synagogues, violence against Jewish institutions and similar horrific acts.
"The surge in antisemitism, fueled by ignorance, prejudice and hatred, serves as a stark reminder of the need for vigilance and proactive measures," wrote Jewish Agency Chairman Maj. Gen. (res.) Doron Almog and Chairman of the Board of Governors Mark Wilf.
"We must work together to eradicate this scourge at every level. Antisemitism must not be tolerated in any form, whether overt or under the radar. We expect significant responses against all manifestations of antisemitism, everywhere and on every platform," they added.
"There is no place for hatred in a just society," The two said in an urgent statement to world leaders and international organizations.
The heads of the Jewish Agency stressed the inseparable bond between the State of Israel and global Jewry as a cornerstone of collective resilience, especially in these challenging times.
"The connection between the State of Israel and world Jewry is a fundamental pillar of our collective strength, especially during these difficult times when this existential partnership demonstrates its power," they added.
Almog and Wilf affirmed their unwavering commitment to strengthening Jewish communities and protecting Jewish institutions around the world. Since October 7, 2023, the Jewish Agency’s Security Fund has provided life-saving security infrastructure to hundreds of Jewish communities worldwide.
