Netanyahu attorney requests postponement of PM's testimony in corruption case

Amit Hadad, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's lawyer, argued before judges at the hearing on a request to postpone his testimony in his trial on corruption charges for two and a half months, that "we submitted the request in a situation where there is no choice." According to Hadad, "the needs of the state are more important than the needs of Benjamin Netanyahu, so when the affairs of the state must be taken care of, then the affairs of the state come first." He added: "If the prime minister was a reservist, the request would have been accepted, so if the prime minister is running the entire war and there are weeks when it is impossible to meet with him, then should that be ignored? We are not asking for a concession."
