A 19-year-old youth was arrested in Switzerland in February on suspicion of planning an attack on a synagogue in the German city of Halle, German newspaper Mitteldeutsche Zeitung reported Wednesday.
The suspect allegedly intended to carry out a shooting similar to the 2019 Yom Kippur attack on Halle’s synagogue, which killed two people.
Authorities did not disclose the suspect’s nationality or motive but confirmed the arrest was linked to “serious security threats.”
