The Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated in an opinion piece he wrote for the British Guardian that one million doses of polio vaccine will be sent to the Gaza Strip in an attempt to protect the residents from the disease. However, he warned that many will continue to die in the Strip from preventable diseases.
