The Trump administration is preparing to freeze $510 million in federal funding to Brown University as part of its crackdown on what it calls "relentless antisemitism on U.S. campuses."
Brown would be the fifth university targeted, following similar actions against Columbia, the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard and Princeton.
While Brown has not yet received an official notice, the White House confirmed the plan.
Brown President Christina Paxson said the university “will not compromise on academic freedom” and warned that the administration’s actions raise “new and unthinkable questions about the future of higher education in the U.S.”
