Brandeis University President Ronald Liebowitz resigned following a vote of no confidence by the institution's academic staff, he announced in a letter sent to the university community Wednesday. The vote, which passed by a majority of 159-149, with 26 abstaining, included criticism of "a consistent pattern of damaging errors of judgment and poor leadership." The no-confidence measure was taken mainly due to his "excessive" reaction against the pro-Palestinian student demonstrations on campus, along with other administrative failures such as problematic handling of the budget and firing of employees.
