The IDF officially announced on Sunday that it killed Nabil Qaouk, the head of Hezbollah's preventive security unit, in an attack in Dahieh in Beirut on Saturday night. According to an IDF spokesperson, Qaouk was considered to be close to the top of the terrorist organization Hezbollah, and was directly engaged in promoting terrorism against the State of Israel and its citizens. He joined the organization in the 1980s, and is considered a knowledgable in his field. In the past, he served as deputy in charge of the southern region on behalf of the executive council, responsible for the southern region and vice chairman of the executive council of Hezbollah.
