The coalition bill to renew the extension of Israeli law to the West Bank settlements failed on Monday by a 58 to 52 vote with the right-wing opposition partnering with the predominately Arab Joint list to block the government legislation.
The bill will be brought to the Knesset once again in the coming week before the legislation in place since the 1967 Six Day War, which must be renewed by the parliament every five years, expires at the end of the month.
