Kanye West continues to get entangled in a familiar scenario. After the American rap musician posted a series of antisemitic tweets last week that led to the closure of his X platform account and the shut down of the sale of a swastika T-shirt , his online commerce platform was also taken down Tuesday night.
Shopify – an online commerce platform through which the rapper's brand is sold – removed West's website, claiming that it violated its terms of use.
A company spokesperson said in a statement that Ye's online store "did not comply with fair trade standards and violated our terms, so we have removed it from Shopify."
The swastika shirt scandal began earlier this week, after West aired a 30-second television commercial on Sunday night during the Super Bowl that was filmed on his cell phone and promoted one product on the site: his teeth. In the commercial, he is seen lying in a dentist's chair and talking about his new teeth, noting that he spent all his money on new teeth, which is why he filmed the commercial with an iPhone.
Immediately after the commercial aired, West removed the remaining products from the site, and the link led users to another product: a swastika T-shirt that sold for 73 shekels (about $20). The Anti-Defamation League condemned the commercial, writing on the social network X on Monday: "The swastika is a symbol adopted by Hitler as the symbol of the Nazis. The symbol continues to threaten and instill fear in those troubled by antemitism and racial supremacy."

Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, the internet has been flooded with a video created using artificial intelligence by Uri Bejerano, which stars Jewish celebrities from around the world wearing a white T-shirt emblazoned with a black outlined hand adorned with a star of David showing an extended middle finger above the single word 'Kanye'. In the background, a pop-y version of Hava Negilah plays. Among the characters in the video are Natalie Portman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Woody Allen, Scarlett Johansson and Adam Sandler, who ends the video with his obscene gesture.
